I understand that Americans don’t necessarily understand ‘zed’, but I’m Canadian, and it’s what my brain reads.  I don’t say ‘zed’ to confused people; rather, it happens automatically.  Anyway, my lab partner KEPT ON CORRECTING ME whenever I referred to Mineral Z.  Or ‘Zee’, should I say.
